by Molly Roberts
Red Nose Day is a massive fundraising event held by comic relief every two years. Comic Relief is a day to help people all over the world. Red Nose Day was on Friday 16th March 2007 and people all over the world raise lots and lots of money.
People all over the U.K take part. The last Red Nose Day we raised over £61,000,000 and it went all over world.
Comic Relief was set up in 1985 that is 22 years ago. It was started by comedians. They wanted to use comedy and laughter to let people know about poverty in the U.K and in Africa. The launch was broadcasted live on Christmas Day on BBC 1 1985. Since then over £425,000,000 has been raised for some of the poorest and most vulnerable people across the U.K and Africa. 60% of Red Nose Day money is spent in Africa and 40% here in the United Kingdom. A group of 20 experts carefully work out which projects should receive money. Hey green raised lots of money for Comic Relief. Wwe raised £190.00 for Comic Relief. We had a parade and had a contest.
